Dear Friends,

I have been at Christian Family Services for almost 25 years in the Adoption Department and now as Executive Director. Every time an adoptive family receives their “forever” child, my heart “leaps for joy” just as it did the first time I saw a placement occur. Every time our counselors tell me a marriage has been restored, a client is no longer dependent on addictive behavior or a client receives Christ, I know that we are making a difference at CFS.

At no time before have we needed your help so desperately, both financially and through prayer. Often we have clients who can’t afford the full payment for counseling services and they request a lowered fee; or we have families who are willing to adopt but need financial assistance.  Presently we are unable to help them.  How can we say NO? How can we say YES?

Beginning June 2014, there is a new rule that all agencies that provide independent home studies for families wishing to adopt internationally must be approved by The Hague Convention.  In order to be certified, there is a fee of over $6,000.  If we are unable to pay that fee, we will not be able to continue to provide home studies for those families wishing to adopt internationally. The only way we can continue to be a Light for Christ in this community and offer these services is with your help. Therefore, I am asking you to come alongside of us and financially partner with us by giving a one-time gift or consider monthly support so that we, as believers, can show that, indeed, we are not only pro-life but pro-living.

At this season of the Greatest Gift ever given, would you commit to pray for us on an ongoing basis? We covet your prayers that Christian Family Services may continue to help those in need of counseling and assist couples wishing to adopt. I believe that Christian Family Services has much to offer and much more to do to assist families in need, whether through adoption or counseling services. My heart will continue to “leap for joy” as we answer the needs of our clients with a resounding YES because of your contribution. Therefore, I ask again that you consider giving a one-time gift toward The Hague Convention certification or provide monthly support as you plan your end of year giving.

Why not consider giving a gift as a way of honoring an adopted member of your family or even as a tribute to a family member who has turned his/her life around through Christ-led counseling. We would be happy to accept your support through credit card payment on our website: www.cfs-michigan.org or by check payable to Christian Family Services.

Thank you,

Audrey Brown

Executive Director

This is Christmas, not the tinsel, not the giving and receiving, not even the carols, but the humble heart that receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ.
