New Director
Christian Family Services is pleased to announce the hiring of Jim Russell
as Executive Director. A veteran in the field of Christian higher education, Jim brings nearly four decades of innovative mentoring and administrative experience, specializing in relationship-building, strategic planning and organizational growth.
Born and raised in Detroit, Jim has pastored in Michigan, traveled for a dozen years speaking in churches and schools throughout the Great Lakes in collegiate recruitment, and spent 15 years in administration. His tenure in both the field and the board room honed vision and leadership skills that translate well into the requirements of his new role. As the representative of a renowned Christian university with a primary focus in the state of Michigan, Jim not only functioned as a liaison with pastors and alumni but also presented the university in local churches and Christian schools to prospective students, their parents, principals, pastors and other “influencers” in the decision-making process.
Jim and his wife, Chris, will celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary in May. The Lord has blessed them with 4 married children, and currently 8 grandchildren. Three of the four families are in vocational local church ministries in Michigan, Massachusetts, and Virginia; the fourth family is active in starting a local church in South Carolina.
CFS stands committed to continue to provide Biblically-based professional counseling, unplanned pregnancy aid, and State-licensed adoption and foster care services to assist churches, families and individuals for the cause of Jesus Christ. We are thrilled to have Jim joing CFS and welcome him to our unique ministry. We are eagerly anticipating to see how the Lord will continue to use CFS to work in the lives of families through our services.
